Weight Loss the Healthy Way
When it comes to changes to our body the only effective way of introducing them is slowly and when it comes to weight loss this is never truer. Weight loss is a process that takes time, it is important that you introduce changes slowly but effectively. The healthiest way in which you can go about this is by avoiding aspects such as crash diets and intense exercise and instead opt for a healthy eating plan and ease yourself into exercise.
Crash dieting or starving yourself severely restricts the amount of calories you intake, which can have a negative effect on your body, this is because it can lead to deficiency in nutrients and vitamins that your body needs. On top of this it will make you lose a lot of weight quickly, which isn't as great as it sounds because as soon as you come off the diet you will simply put all of the weight back on plus more, so what about exercise? Well the same principle applies if you have not exercised for years then you should avoid rushing back into it as chances are you will injure yourself, which will leave you feeling disheartened as well as unmotivated and what this will basically do is set your fitness levels back even further, making it even harder for you to lose the weight you are hoping to. So what should you be doing?
In the concept of exercise you should start off small before hitting the intense work out, a great example of this is before you go for a three mile run start off with a brisk walk and develop it into a jog before eventually getting it up to a run. Again the same concept can be applied to the food you eat; as I have already mentioned you should avoid crash diets. Instead of starting yourself off on a diet, one of the most effective ways of achieving weight loss is through eating healthily by increasing the amount of fruit and vegetables that you eat.
When you start the day start it with 100% pure fruit juice and add some fresh fruit to your cereal. For lunch put together a selection of fruit or vegetables and salad leaves together with a low calorie dressing and enjoy with a crusty wholemeal roll then for your evening meal try to add as many vegetables in as you can. And when it comes to snacks keep a piece of fresh fruit on hand or aspects such as carrot sticks. Simple changes such as this will reduce cravings as well as severely reduce your calorie intake without compromising on your intake of vitamins etc.
Taking your weight loss process slowly you will have far better results than if you dived into the deep end. If you keep this in mind you will not only achieve the weight loss that you are hoping for but you will also ensure that your weight stays off. Effective weight loss is not about fad diets or the latest subscription to the best gym, it is about changing your lifestyle so what are you waiting for? Make the change today.
